my life should be back to normal by the beginning of November. thank you to all those who have been patient and understanding. i have been running a little behind. moving homes is bigger chore and a grand undertaking.
also a few weeks off from behind the camera has got me itching to go clicker crazy once again. what would i do with out this job /passion that i love? some good stuff coming up this week hopefully? if our weather allows it. have a great rest of the weekend and be back soon. many blessings, a
i first met Brian at the Broadway Roastery for a coffee when he was inquiring about our services for his wedding day. from the word ' hello ' Brian came across as a very balanced individual. i sensed that there was great depth and talent within, but his humble attitude kept it from all pouring out just then. we had the privilege of photographing Brian and Carla engagement and their wedding. great memories and fun times.about 3 weeks ago i interview Brian and here is what i learned about him:
Name: Brian V KachurWebpage: www.bvkcreations.caBlog: www.drawingboard.org/blogs/bvkcreations/Online store: www.cafepress.com/bvkcreations/Occupation: Graphic design Artist focusing on drawings.Home town: Saskatoon, but for now they live in Melville, Saskatchewan
A piece of equipment that I couldn't be without: my sketchpad and a pencil. My computer is a big part of my work, but all ideas start with the sketchpad and a pencilMy strength in my profession is: my creativity. When I am given an idea that comes from a person head or imagination. I am able to create it for them. This involves great listening skills and a creative mind to see what they are seeing too.
My weakness in my profession is: estimating how long a project will take to complete. It?s hard for me to ever know when a picture is complete. There is always tweaking and perfecting to be done, at least thru my eyes. The perfect client is: Pat Katz. I just finished doing all the illustrations for new book she released. The book it?s self was all about anti stress so it was very hard to stress out thru this project. How I balance life and work: my life is my work. I am not a workaholic or a slave to what I do, but I just simple love what I am doing. If this is not what I worked at , I would be drawing anyway. I am forever thankful that as a newly wed that my wife is working hard at her career as well. Often times we end up in the office working side by side. Customer Service is: being brutally honest. Something I have learned along the way: Love what you are doing by doing what you love. How I spend my money: I just bought the new Mac pro. Yikes I am excited about that. What annoys me: this is going to sound weird, but when a T.V. is on but the digital box isn?t and there is just a black screen and I can hear the frequency. That sounds drives me nuts. I prefer not to: ever break my hand!!!I'm in awe of: besides my wife (laugh) Other illustrators. The talent that is out there and, the lack of. I often spend time on the drawingboard.org to be inspired.Something I have never done: I have never been tattooed. Someday..... maybe.
thank you Brian and great luck pursuing your dreams.
we have reached the time of year when the weather slows down our outdoor photography. (our favorite kind of photography). the green grass has turned to a dull brown, the leaves have fallen from the branches and some of that white stuff has already covered the ground. this is distressing, but yet necessary. i have learned that with the change of season, that change is a part of every aspect in life. during the winter, our photography will slow down a little and for this i am thankful in a few ways. - every business and person needs to re focus and to reflect. - we will have some more time in the office to focus on building and improving all aspects things for the next season. - during this slower season, we look forward to moving and growing in other ways time wouldn't permit us to do while we were on the move.at this time i would like to express the feelings we have.
looking back over this past year. we could cry, giggle and smile in the matter of a minute.
we have met so many incredible individuals it's amazing. the feelings we have from being in contact with every person that was in front the camera has been so rewarding inwardly, it's beyond words.
the children, the families, the soul mates, those who promied a life of love and laugther together the good time and hard times.
the opportunity to capture life brightest emotions and moments.
how have we been so blessed? we are forever thankful.
our aspiration during this time is to spotlight an individual every 2 weeks that has somehow and in some way, big or small made impressions and imprints on our lives. these individuals are those that have crossed our path in the past year.
when Juanita and i first started this business, we always said it's not so much about the business end of things. it's about the people. getting to know what makes them feel wonderful.
their passions, their dreams, and their day-to-day life that keeps them inspired and wired.
so please, thru out the winter share in their passions.
enjoy our ' dream photography spotlights '.
feeling a little over whelmed, feeling a little excited too. a swirl of emotions really.
Kipp and i have purchased a new (old) home and before we move in we chose to replace the flooring. what we had predicted to be a two-day job turned out being a two-week project. like most things in life, it takes hard work and patience. great character building.i would like to say that husband is a trooper, we have had lots of help from friends and familywe are thankful for themthese are the days that we will remember.please excuse if the blogging slows down a little ? i am trying my best to be useful during this time of renovations where and when i can.if all goes well we will be settled in by November 1we have lots of exciting stuff to announce soon.
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilderjust arrived home tonight filled to the brim both in my stomach and in my heart. i cannot express how i feel except from this quote above i feel so alive. life is so amazing when i am honest enough with myself to be thankful for every little bit. i am just thankful for so much it's people really, the moments, the laughter, the love we all share. thank you, thank you thank you!
