our little nephew visits Saskatoon

Tammy, my sister in law is in Saskatoon this week to visit the family and get some things done for her wedding in august. on friday Juanita and i took some more pictures of Tammy, Doug and my little nephew. he is so cute, take a look at these pictures, you will fall in love with him too.

thank you Tammy and Doug, once again for being wonderful models and the parents that you are !!

Love like in a storybook

this weekend we had the privilege of taking engagement photos for Brian and Carla. we are photographing their wedding in July and after working with them this weekend i am stoked.

we spent the afternoon capturing the moments as it happened with this couple and trust me - that was easy !
they are so in love and they have so much fun together.

their relationship reminded me of a storybook. ya know the ones where the pages keep turning and you forget about time and all else that is around you. the kind of storybook, that takes you to a place that refreshes the mind, body and soul.

Brian and Carla. you two are wonderful !!!

happy final planning and see you on that wedding day with your mile wide smiles and happy hearts.

Growth !!!

lately i have been thinking of the word growth'.
i looked the word up to see what the actual meaning was. here is what i found:

Development from a lower or simpler to a higher or more complex form;

An increase, as in size, number, value, or strength; extension or expansion:

i have been thinking of growth for a few reasons.

Kipp and i just planted a garden on friday of last week. already we are seeing the little radishes pop up.
to me this is incredible but it reminds me of life and growth that can be seen in us all.

for the second reason,

it was a year ago today, i close my eyes and go back.
i received a phone call from my sister / business partner on my cell phone. i was on my way home, i has just stopped by her work place to chat about our new business.

"okay" she said. "the name , it's registered. we will be receiving the paper work in the mail soon. i am having all the mail come to your house manda , is that cool?"

wow !! it's official a company, a business and it's our own. now, were do we start?

paper work? bank accounts? software ? cameras ? lenses ? contacts? advertising?
so many ideas and no enough time.

i remember so much was running thur my head at that time and i am sure that my feet were pacing too.
ya know when you are so excited you just don't know what to do?
back and forth,
back and forth

well i did know some things and some things were very clear. they always will be.
i knew in my heart, that what ever we did in this business we were to live our dream, have fun and make people feel wonderful. we were meant to capture people's greatest moments and present them with memories forever.

we truly have been blessed in this year and not because you might think it's been easy, but because juanita and i have done things together. we have put sweat into it and we are seeing growth.
there has been much growth in learning, listening and knowing the in's and out's of what to do and what not to do in business.

thank you to all those who have help us grow !!
who, (in plant terms) have fertilized and watered us. thank you for the warm sunshine and rainy days too. thank you to all the clients and customers, who have become friends and acquaintances. thank you to the other photographers who have been open and honest willing to help others. thank you to our parents and husbands who stand behind us.
i feel thankful for those who are promoting us and referring us . they might now be in the need for photos , but we are in their minds and hearts.
thank you is just a word that i could not say enough of.

we are living the dream and it's really just begun.
Happy 1st Birthday Dream Photography.

to many more ahead.

here are a few pictures i took of our little radishes and their growth.

A kid with Character !

wow. yesterday i photographed a child of age two, who i just know is going to be a go getter in life because he already is!! Carter Clark has a contagious personality! i couldn't get enough of this guy.

we took some photos of Carter for some adds for an insurance company is going to run here in the city. Cooke Insurance. you will have to wait to see the creative ideas that this company has come up with.

you will know however that this child will be part of those creative ideas.

Carter was such a great model. he loved saying "cheese". and he kept asking his father that if he was good, would he be able to have a starbucks cookie? oh dear. hooked on starbucks at such a young age ;)

here are a few of the pictures that i took in between the shots that will run as adds.

thank you Carter for being so colorful. you have a bright future ahead - keep those shades on!

Happy Birthday Joe !

i remember the first time i met Joey. it was way long ago and she made an impression on my heart back then and she still does today. i remember thinking to myself, this gal has a contagious smile and such a warm heart. i still see those remarkable traits in her today!

it's Joey's birthday today and so i thought i would put up a few pics of us. Joey has always been a great friend but just over the last few years i have got to know her better.

i am so blessed to have a friend like her. i just wished she lived closer.
if that was the case we have non stop fun and laughter.
you see this is what we do best!
life is to short and sometimes life deals us with tuff luck. her and i have always chosen to forget the problems and laugh. even if it's at ourselves.

Joey, happy birthday. Kipp and i miss you. you are about due for another visit here. the sak shack is always open to you!
come out and visit anytime. we'll make a birthday dinner with pickled peppers ;)

this picture was at my birthday last year. Joe was here with to celebrate. wish i was in vancouver to celebrate with her!

this picture was taken at one of Kipp's hockey games this past winter, after the game, we ran out on the ice to get the snap shot.

here are a few oldie goldies. back in the day, juanita and i would count down the days and save every penny until we would visit Joey and her sister, Jenn in vancouver.

we would take non stop silly pictures. this is Joey posing with her crazy cousin.

the four gals in vancouver - back in the day!

i am just sharing a webpage with you all.
in dealing with alot of brides, i often get taken in when listening about their big day. in turn alot of brides end up asking me a few questions about some of the detail.
here is a site, a canadian company. they do some amazing work when it comes to the paper stuff.

engagement annoucements, save the date cards, invitations and ceremony programs, menus, favors and thank you cards.

check 'em out.

Not just an average photo shoot

friday's photo shoot was not just your average photo shoot. it was in the amongst many large creatures
horses all around.
juanita and i were out at mom and dad's acreage , rae-dawn arabians, for a photo shoot of all the new babies at the farm this year as well as some mature horses.

i tell ya it's different that capturing people , but i think in no time at all we will have the catch of it.
with arabian horses, there are things that you need to watch for before you take the picture. the arch in the neck, the ears , etc.

just thought i would post s few pictures. these horses are beautiful.

here is the blogger bluppers. in between every horse shoot, we'd have a little photo shoot of our own. taking endless pictures of each other in a picture war. too much fun !

Road trip

Kipper and i took a road trip this past weekend after a crazy busy week here. i just love road trips. time together, talking about everything under the sun.

we packed up the car late friday afternoon and headed out to Didsbury, to meet our new little nephew, Tammy (Kipp's sister) and her husband to be had their first child on April 14, 2006

we arrived and within minutes, we were looking into his little seat staring down at the miracle,
"can i hold him Tammy? "

he is perfect. little hands, little feet, little grins, little groans when he is hungry.
Kipp and i had a hard time saying good bye yesturday. we both just wanted to keep on cuddle'n with him.
here are a few pics i took this weekend. Donavin didn't really what was happening, but while Kipp and Doug were out golfing saturday afternoon, Tammy and i had a little photo session going on in the house.

Tammy and Doug, thank you for such a great weekend. you guys will make wonderful parents. enjoy every moment of it together.
